Registered Nurse (RN) - Endoscopy - GI Procedures

Endoscopy RN

Registered Professional Nurse with acute care experience who provides safe, competent quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and significant others.

Must have 1-2+ years of Endoscopy - Procedure hospital nursing experience

​​​​Responsibilities:

• Delivers patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care and through the application of the nursing process based upon theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved organizational nursing standards
• Assesses and evaluates patient care needs and applies critical thinking skills in patient care management
• Integrates relevant assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.
• Prioritizes all aspects of patient care including teaching, rounding, coaching, and planning “after hospital care” and delegating to others as appropriate.
• Demonstrates patient-focused and cost-effective approaches to patient care in terms of equipment, staff, supplies, and all other resources
• Administer nursing care to ill, injured, or disabled patients
• Diagnose and establish patient treatment plans
• Monitor and report changes in patient symptoms or behavior
• Communicate with collaborating physicians or specialists regarding patient care
• Educate patients about health maintenance and disease prevention
• Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities
• Maintain accurate patient medical records
• Provide advice and emotional support to patients and their family members

Qualifications:

• Registered Professional Nurse currently registered to practice in New York State.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred within Manhattan, Queens, Bronx, Harlem, Brooklyn
• Endoscopy, GI procedure, surgery, med surg, PACU or pre-op
• NYS RN License BLS, ACLS;
• Bachelor of Science with a major in nursing preferred. Associate degree in nursing is considered only with relevant experience and/or active matriculation in a BSN Program
• Previous experience in nursing or other medical fields
• Familiarity with medical software and equipment
• Ability to build rapport with patients
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
