ROAM Maui is a membership-only air service for Maui homeowners, their vertical families and a limited number of guests who travel frequently between Maui and the mainland. Flight routes are between Maui and our ‘City Club” airports of Seattle, Los Angeles, and the San Francisco Bay Area. The ROAM Maui flight experience utilizes private jet terminals, celebrity chef designed in-flight dining and pet-friendly travel aboard VIP configured 737s that are outfitted with a 56” pitch between just 44 first-class seats
Position Description:
Membership acquisition is core to our success and the addressable audience with the qualifications to become a ROAM Maui member is small and well defined. The Vice President of Membership Development will be responsible for all outbound sales for ROAM Maui. Day-to-day responsibilities include proactive prospecting of the elite decision makers who make up our demographic, network development of influencers, leaders and community members in the HOAs and sub-HOAs eligible for membership. The ideal candidate will be highly resourceful and possess a hunter mentality with the ability to identify, pursue and consistently close prospects to become new ROAM Maui members.
The candidate will need to have a strong background in membership sales at member-owned clubs, or related sales experience working with luxury services and high-net-worth clientele. The successful candidate will be organized, fearless, persistent, amenable, proactive and accountable.
Key responsibilities include: development, implementation and support of programs, projects, and activities designed to increase and retain membership, along with representation in the respective communities.
Primary Duties:
Develop sales outreach plans and implement strategies to meet membership numbers and goals. This includes a detailed strategic plan to cultivate lead sources on the island of Maui, specifically through High Net Worth channels, as well as HOA conduits and other affiliate channels.
Accountability to agreed upon strategic plans and identified focused efforts.
Accountability on a monthly basis to established membership quotas and goals.
Proactively promote the value of ROAM Maui membership to prospects, influencers and community members, with special focus on upselling our highest tier Elite Membership program.
Organize and conduct prospective ROAM Maui membership events on Maui as well as our City Club markets (Seattle, Bay Area, Los Angeles)
Attend local civic and business association meetings and events as required.
Use the company CRM system to maintain the database of prospect and member information. Administer all membership changes, additions and deletions.
Personally welcome each member and instill confidence that the organization is operated in the best interests of the membership.
Produces monthly sales activity reports for the managers.
Makes recommendations for appropriate advertising and marketing to drive lead generation for new members.
Assure the efficient and timely submission of all operational, financial, budgetary and related marketing and sales reports as required.
Conduct periodic market research to provide information essential for revising current programs, which enhance the membership’s competitiveness in the marketplace.
Some nights, weekends and holidays will be required to represent ROAM Maui and interact with members at social functions.
Own the creation and implementation of the annual sales and marketing plan for membership.
Work closely with the ROAM Maui managers operational support and sales and marketing teams.
Qualifications:
College degree preferred or equivalent education and experience.
4 years outside sales and marketing experience, preferably in the resort hospitality, private golf club and/or private jet industry.
Demonstrates quality interpersonal communication, presentation, and sales skills.
Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including nights/weekends.
Must quickly develop a basic understanding of the aviation industry.
Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.
Dedication and commitment to excellent member service.
Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, email communication or CRM platforms, website content management systems and Contact Management Software.
