Job Description

RMS is a privately owned human service organization that has been licensed and in operation in Ohio since 1987.  RMS of Ohio provides supported living and adult day services to individuals with a range of physical and developmental disabilities throughout the state of Ohio.  Supported living services are provided in the residence of the person served.  Our mission is to provide superior quality support services based on a commitment to integrity, teamwork, listening, and learning.  

The Director of Operations has comprehensive management authority for the business of a specific regional supported living operation.  This includes managing the programmatic, operational, financial, and political elements. 

Responsibilities:  

          1.  Maintains and supervises an appropriate level of qualified staff to deliver quality services to consumers.  Supervises,                       either directly or indirectly, all regional administrative and direct care staff.

           2.  Insures that clinical endeavors are appropriately responsive to consumers needs and are in compliance with plan                            documents as agreed upon with funders.

           3.  Manages financial resources, funding levels and expenses in a profitable and  businesslike manner.

           4.  Provides overall direction to all aspects of the business within the region through the use of strategic planning tools.

           5.  Fosters strong, positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, particularly with local county boards of                         developmental disabilities, in a manner keeping with the company mission statement.

            6.  Seeks and develops opportunities to expand business.

             7.  Fosters a positive, collaborative work culture that establishes a focus on client service, staff development, and                                  mentoring.

Qualifications:

            1.  Share similar values and philosophy regarding supports to persons with human service needs or disabilities.

            2.  Experience with and comprehensive understanding of managing relationships with  state, county and local agencies,                       funding relationships; politically astute.

             3.  Positive motivational leader with ability to select, hire, train, manage and retain key regional staff team members.

             4.  Solid business and financial skills.

             5.  Solid computer skills, with experience using Microsoft Office software and the internet

             6.  A bachelor’s degree in a human service field, and/or professional licensure required (i.e. RN, SW, ISW, etc.) and a                            minimum five years managing a human services operation at a senior level, preferred

             7.  Current Ohio driver’s license and compliance with Ohio drivers liability insurance standards
