Web Developer (BS4 Responsive Web Design)

 

Type:
Contract-based.

I. Position Overview:
We are a small business consulting firm based in California, and are looking to establish a relationship with a web design partner who is adept at Fluid Responsive Web Design (HTML 5 / CSS3 / JavaScript,) and the new Bootstrap 4 Framework.

We are seeking an expert Responsive Web Designer, with expertise specifically in Fluid-design, and experience creating web pages from the Bootstrap 4 framework.

We envision the new web design partner will assemble the Bootstrap 4 web pages based on our design specifications, design mock-ups and UX objectives.

The successful Candidate must have a strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards. The candidate must also have expertise and hands on experience with Web Applications and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Sass, and API's.


II. Primary Requirements
The primary requirements and qualifications for this position are as follows.

Design:
• Must have a good understanding of design in general.
• A good understanding of color and best practices like using "golden-ratio," etc., and other minimalist design concepts is a must.
• Must have a minimalistic view of code authoring, and code design.
• Must have an extensive understanding of the Box-Model, and how to design web pages using the least amount of scripts and code.
• Must have an in-depth understanding of Document Flow design based concepts, minimalizing the code footprint and reducing the number of requests via external stylesheets and scripting.

HTML 5:
• Advanced knowledge of HTML 5, and how it differs from XHTML 2.0, and other earlier version of HTML.
• Must have expertise in authoring, HTML 5, CSS-3, JavaScript, JQuery etc.
• Must be able to develop HTML 5 form functions, and • Application Functions
• Role Support / Accessibility Enabled UI.
• Must have a deep understanding of HTML 5 Semantics. Meaning Through Markup.
• Must have a complete understanding of the HTML 5 Outline Algorithm, and how to structure code for both traditional web browsers, and users using the Outline Algorithm view.

Bootstrap 4 Framework:
• Experience developing Bootstrap 4 based websites are a must.
• Must have the ability to write custom media queries for all available device / screen sizes that come baked into Bootstrap 4.

Responsive Design
• Must be a Fluid-Responsive Web Design Expert.
• Must be able to tackle the many challenges presented by Responsive Design..
• Must have in-depth knowledge of, and understanding of the many factors associated with Responsive Design.
• Must have an understanding of Fluid Design concepts, developing interfaces based on Percentages and EMs, and have the ability to maintain Typographical ratios at the many different resolutions, and viewport sizes.
• Must be able to work with ratios and exacting figures to accomplish a perfect UI/UE.

Browser Troubleshooting / Discovery and Bug Fixes.:
• Must be able to develop code that is backwards compatible, developing solutions to IE version support and related browser bug issues.
• All code must be able to work properly in Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari, Edge, and other mobile / desktop browsers.
• Must be able to troubleshoot and debug issues within each browser, and develop solutions / fixes to any issue you encounter.


III . Compensation:
• Contract-based compensation.
