RLD Associates, Inc. has an opening for a full-time or part-time home-based position as a field auditor in the Washington DC and Columbia MD areas. FT or PT will be differentiated by a willingness to travel:
A full-time territory will include Washington DC and areas of MD to include Silver Spring, Greenbelt, Bowie, and Columbia. Travel will include a maximum radius of up to 40 miles from the center of the territory. Full-time auditors are eligible for 401k, health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and vision insurance. Travel is to be encompassed by the billable hourly rate. Other travel considerations, such as reimbursements to be discussed during phone interview.
A part-time position would cover Washington DC and the immediate surrounding area. Part-time positions are 1099-only, without benefits. No travel reimbursement.
Travel should be anticipated 3 to 5 days per week. A reliable vehicle is required. Overnight stays are not a requirement of this position.
-Review audit requests
-Prioritize inventory and schedule workload
-Make contact to the named insured to schedule an audit appointment
-Travel to the appointment location
-Conduct on-site interviews and review of accounting records including payroll records, employment tax reports, general ledgers, and check registers
-Research of appropriate manual rules and classifications
-Prepare written audit reports to show analyzed data, calculations, and classifications
-Capable of working independently
-Possess a pleasant personality
-Must be dependable
-Excellent communication skills
-Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
-Two-year degree in accounting or related subject is preferred (experience in bookkeeping and payroll preparation will be weighted heavily)
-Computer literate including use of Microsoft programs and scheduling applications
-Compatible laptop with Microsoft Excel
