DIRECT RESPONSE MARKETING MANAGER - MEMBERSHIP

 

Our client, a major non-profit association, is looking for a Direct Response Marketing Manager consultant to join their team for a 1-Year contract assignment in Washington, DC.  This position will have two primary responsibilities: increase Automatic Renewal (Auto Renew) member enrollment through print and mail channels; and improve the retention of members on Auto Renew.

 

Responsibilities

 

Direct Mail/Print Campaigns & Communications

  • Support the maintenance and delivery of the existing Auto Renew mail notification stream to members currently on automatic renewal. Integrating all legal and brand updates, engagement drivers, ensuring that operational standards meet subscription law guidelines as provided by the Office of General Counsel.
  • Maintain regular communication with external direct mail creative agencies and identify opportunities for efficiencies that ensure final art and copy remains accurate, up to date and delivers on schedule to our print center.
  • Support the management and execution of quarterly direct mail campaigns designed to grow Auto Renew adoption via ACH/eCheck.  Specifically, working with our Print Center of Excellence to review and approve direct mail deployment details including lettershop instructions, review and approve print proofs, manage complex campaign matrices, support other channels throughout the enterprise that drive auto renewal adoption via print/mail and work with our Treasury Operations Center on auto renewal remittance processes.
  • Responsible for developing all direct mail and print campaign creative via our external agency resources including submitting creative briefs, managing several rounds of proofs between agency and internal stakeholders and approving final art for release to the print center.
  • Meet with and participate in all regularly scheduled Auto Renew team meetings including a weekly 1:1 project review with the Director.

 

Auto Renew Retention Strategy

  • Lead the design of a new retention strategy for members on Auto Renew utilizing all internal channel resources available including email, digital, SMS and print for a full-funnel marketing approach.
  • Consult with the agency hired to deliver the design of two new journey builds plus enhance the existing communication stream for members on Auto Renew that improves member retention per the project objectives, ensure ongoing communication and collaboration amongst internal project participants, schedule regular meetings and provide weekly project status updates to the team and the Director.
  • Support all technical requirements as identified to connect all points in the project that will insure a seamless member experience and accurate tracking and reporting on key performance metrics.
  • Manage the project schedule and a central project asset repository on SharePoint.
  • Coordinate with the agency to create and share quarterly business reviews on project progress with the team and management.
  • Collaborate on and troubleshoot ideas working to get quick learnings via Feedback Loop testing to inform and refine proposed journey designs. 
  • QA final designs to ensure they are market ready.
  • Work on the development of reporting for engagement measurement as it directly ties to retention performance including custom reporting in BI, Tableau and through the Automatic Renewal Dashboard as needed. Monitor member sentiments and insights through various tools including the Voice of the Consumer Automatic Renewal Dashboard, Auto Renew cancellation survey and feedback from the Contact Center.
  • Work to optimize journeys once in market on an ongoing basis based on key performance metrics.

 

Qualifications

  • At least five years of experience in direct mail, and at least 2-3 years of email and digital marketing experience.
  • Experience in business to consumer direct response marketing in acquisition, engagement, and customer retention, preferably in a membership organization.
  • Experience with SMS and subscription marketing desired.
  • Ability to manage projects and collaborate across teams and agencies.
  • Ability to understand analytics and apply to program improvement.
  • Detail oriented, ability to organize and execute marketing projects and campaigns from start to finish.
