Cyber Transport Specialist

Overview:

Come join our team and support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Nuclear Enterprise Support Directorate (NE), Mission Assurance Department (MA) to perform integrated, multidisciplinary mission assurance assessments that assess vulnerabilities of critical U.S. and allied national/theater mission systems, networks, architectures, infrastructures, and assets.

The Cyber Transport Specialist is a key member of the assessment team. The Cyber Transport Specialist works on an assessment team to support the Government in identifying vulnerabilities affecting defense critical assets, task critical assets, and critical infrastructure that support defense critical missions. The assessment team works with installation and mission personnel to identify risks that may lead to mission loss or degradation and provide recommendations for risk reduction.

Cyber Transport Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify all aspects of communications-related (i.e., DoD data voice networks, transmission systems, Defense Information Systems Network (DISN), and other DoD and Commercial terrestrial and satellite communications systems and networks) vulnerabilities, increase the customer’s awareness of potential vulnerabilities and impacts of communications on mission execution capability, and provide recommendations to mitigate or eliminate identified vulnerabilities.
  • Collect and analyze IT and OT cybersecurity data, author client deliverables and reports, and document cyber vulnerabilities and risk with potential impact on critical assets and missions
  • Use threats and hazards data and vulnerability information to identify risks affecting the mission's cyber and communications infrastructure
  • Provide detailed analysis, risk summaries, and recommendations or courses of action to implement countermeasures to improve cybersecurity posture in support of critical assets, infrastructure and missions
  • Innovation, creativity, critical thinking and analysis in support of DoD partners

Cyber Transport Specialist

Professional Certification(s) required:

  • IAT Level II certification as defined and described in DoDD 8570.01 and 8570.01-M, and as amended.

Minimum Security Clearance Required to Start:

  • DoD TOP SECRET clearance with SCI. 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent writing skills, strong communication abilities, good time management and organizational skills
  • Experience using tools and applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and SharePoint
  • Work confidently and effectively in a fast-paced environment with the ability to independently support multiple projects
  • Logical analysis of complex technical issues
  • Knowledge of various types of IT and operational technology
  • Familiarity with DoD Cybersecurity policy and NIST guidance
  • Ability to work independently on multiple deadlines with minimal direction
  • Ability to effectively work in a virtual and in-person team environment
  • Takes initiative to help ensure team tasks are successfully completed within required timelines
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in the Technology or Cybersecurity field

Other:

  • Active US Passport

Additional Requirements: 

Compliance with a drug-free work environment, U. S. Citizen, and must possess valid State driver’s license.
