Richard Wolf Medical Instruments Corporation is currently seeking a Facilities Manager in Vernon Hills, IL. The Facilities Manager is responsible for facility maintenance. Acts as the company’s designated Safety Officer.

REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Troubleshoot and facilitate any issues arising within the areas of facility maintenance
    • Monitor facility contracts (HVAC, Building Cleaning Service, etc.)
    • Communicate with various vendors (i.e. for HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and Facility Maintenance) on a regular basis
    • Ensure vendor/equipment manufacturer-proposed preventative maintenance requirements and schedules are developed into standard operating procedures (SOP’s). Ensure corresponding forms/logs are written and training is completed, to ensure safe and efficient equipment availability/operation.
    • Ensure new equipment requiring calibration and preventative maintenance (PM) has been communicated to the Quality department and department manager for integration into their calibration and PM schedules.
    • Act as the company’s designated Safety Officer, responsible for day-to-day management of the safety program, including OSHA regulations, local/state fire regulations, development of emergency response procedures and safety team.
    • Create and lead implementation of facility improvement plans including but not limited to:
      • Define and write project requirements and statement of work (SOW)
      • Vendor/contractor identification, credentialing and permitting
      • Generate requests for Quote (RFQ) and NDA’s where applicable.
      • Review and negotiation of quotes
      • Development of budgets and MS Project timelines
      • Review and edit project contracts to include timeline commitments, penalties for project creep, and late delivery
      • Ensure employee and contractor safety requirements are closely adhered to at all times
      • Preparation of Capital Budget Requests (CBR) with financial/strategic justification and coordination of approvals
    • Attend to and oversee all aspects of plant maintenance, repair, security, etc.
    • Design and implement facility management and energy efficiency improvement programs in coordination with the Corporate Director of Manufacturing
    • Coordinate resources and third party suppliers for proper execution of building projects
    • Coordinate with Purchasing Department to create and maintain business relationships with minority vendors
    • Manage the Facilities Maintenance Technician time schedule and workload
    • Monitor attendance and PTO planning of Facilities Maintenance Technician
    • Monitor and actively address employee performance through encouragement, motivational techniques and mentoring as well as a sense of urgency and fairness
    • Conduct annual Performance Evaluation of Facilities Maintenance Technician


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Aware of and comply with the RWMIC Quality Manual and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
  • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
  • Other duties as assigned by the Corporate Director of Manufacturing


QUALIFICATIONS:

(ONLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED)

  • Associates degree or higher preferred, and minimum of 5 years’ experience in facility maintenance/management
  • Strong administrative skills, detail oriented, and a thorough understanding of organizational and time management concept
  • Excellent communication skills within all levels of the organization
  • English proficiency. Bilingual in German a plus.
  • Intermediate PC skills in all major MS office suite products with an ability to become familiar with specific programs and software (e.g. SAP ERP software)
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations required
  • Experience with and understanding of cross-cultural differences and the ability to work within this environment is crucial for successful employment
  • The following physical demands are required:
    • Stand/Sit/Walk 8 hours per day.
    • Lift/Carry 25+ pounds
    • Bend/Stoop/Kneel 4 hours per day
