Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work effectively with company technologies’ existing drawing software
  • Use Company Technologies’ standard procedures, forms, and software to perform job functions
  • Produce accurate and detailed drawings for presentation, approval, installation, and as-built documents
  • Track drawing revisions/modifications as outlined by Company Technologies’ drawing standards
  • Use custom vendor programs to assist sales and project management in design, pricing and material listing of required equipment
  • Assist in budgetary and/or fixed cost pricing for required equipment and services
  • Develop creative and constructive concepts, designs, and final layouts of proposed systems
  • Provide assistance and training to other Company Technologies’ employees in regard to the company’s drawing standards, CAD operation, and file management software
  • Provide preliminary application engineering of required equipment
  • as needed generating quote requests for special equipment and subcontracted services
  • Provide general information and documentation as requested
  • Assist in the development and assembly of system maintenance manuals
  • Travel to job sites to perform site survey or to confirm dimensions for as-built
  • Order and track equipment shipments as needed
  • Provide support to the sales and engineering teams as needed
  • Perform related tasks on special projects as directed
  • Perform other duties as required for business operations

 
 
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of general material handling and storage systems
  • Demonstrate mechanical comprehension
  • Provide appropriate level of decision making in the layout and design function
  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a good working relationship with the customers, vendors, and Company team members

 
Education and Experience:

  • Associates or BS degree or equivalent related experience (8 to 10 years in the industry)
  • Proficient with current AutoCAD program
  • Microsoft Office products including MS PowerPoint and MS Project
