INTEGRATED BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CLINICIAN
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY: The Integrated Behavioral Health Provider will be responsible for providing treatment using therapeutic intervention to pediatric and adult primary care patients with various behavioral health and psychological conditions to include all levels of acuity. The Integrated Behavioral Health Provider will provide short-term therapy using evidence based tools like cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing as part of treatment.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Providing treatment for primary care patients, both pediatric and adult, for behavioral health disorders, symptoms and conditions including substance use disorders; Providing direct clinical services to patients and families in the form of psychosocial assessments, individual, family, and group treatment; Enhancing patient engagement by using evidence based tools such as cognitive therapy and motivational interviewing; Collaborating as a member of multi-disciplinary integrated team for the development and delivery of treatment plans; Providing interventions with patients regarding health behavior change and adherence to medical plans; Will see 2-3 new patients per day; Facilitating integrated care through brief consultations and ongoing communication with primary care provider to coordinate care; Maintaining and keeping current clinical charts, including initial assessments, treatment care plans, and progress notes; Knowledge of health psychology is preferred; Experience with substance abuse and addiction is required; Bridging the gap between physical and behavioral health by collaborating with primary care providers and integrating care in order to support the overall wellness of each patient.
QUALIFICATIONS: Masters in social work or doctorate in psychology from an accredited college or university. Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the State of Rhode Island with Chemical Dependency Professional (CDP) certification preferred; or a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PsyD) in Rhode Island. Previous experience in a medical setting which supports a primary care integration model is preferred. CPR and First Aid certification. Full-Time (40 Hours/week) with some evenings. Bilingualism is an asset, but not a requirement.
