Client: National Guard Bureau
Description: Writer/Editor to provide professional and editing skills to briefing slides, correspondence, policies and procedures. The Consultant will serve as Writer-Editor and supports ARNG in the development of written products that articulate, interpret, and explain wide-ranging issues; and edits a variety of material for the organization. Adjusts reading grade levels of documents as appropriate for the target audience. Performs hard-copy and electronic copy editing. Edits, rewrites, and reorganizes materials to ensure information is presented in a clear concise, and logical form, while considering the purpose of the material; items covered, intended target audience.
Utilizes software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Professional, desktop publishing programs, and other writing and editing functions. Determines or tailors messaging for various audiences: structures and formats web pages(s) and content appropriately, maintaining the standard ARNG look and fell, adhering to graphic guidelines, using consistent link styles, and ensuring accessibility (specially as relates to Section 508 requirements); and continually assesses content and quality. Collaborates with ARNG staff and other government and contractor personnel to ensure document design methods, techniques, and standards are technically accurate and current for the intended audience. Reviews and analyses instructional materials, technical reports, graphic illustrations/visuals, and other source material that might be used in the development of ARNG instructional materials.
