Provide professional transportation services for authorized personnel for official business to and from Agency Headquarters to various locations in and around the Washington, DC metropolitan area using a GSA government leased vehicle. The candidate will also perform various other logistics and administrative tasks.
Transportation Services/Driver Qualifications:
Driver Training and Improvement Certification (e.g. GSA Online Defensive Driving Course or AAA Driver Improvement Program)
Drivers must have a thorough knowledge of the Washington, DC metropolitan area, be able to determine the safest and most advantageous route between locations and be able to read and understand GPS.
Drivers must have a valid driver’s license, with no record of accidents or traffic violations within the last three years, and no record of alcohol or drug abuse.
Drivers must speak and understand English at a business and technical level.
Drivers shall operate Government-owned vehicles according to all applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations where Agency vehicles are operated.
Drivers must comply with requirements of the Agency Official Use of Vehicle policy, wear seatbelts at all times, instruct passengers to wear seatbelts, not engage in text messaging while driving, only use “hand’s-free” communication devices, and all other requirements.
Drivers shall perform safety checks (i.e., lights, brakes, tires, fluid levels, etc.) before operating any vehicle.
Drivers shall complete the Vehicle Use Log on a daily basis and record pickup dates, times, and locations; and any vehicle concerns.
Drivers must present and conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.
Drivers shall wear appropriate business attire at all times, such as a coat and tie for men and equivalent for women. Wearing of jeans is not permitted.
Drivers must ensure that complete confidentiality is maintained over any government communication the driver may inadvertently see or overhear.
Drivers will ensure the gas tank is kept on a minimum of half-full tank. The vehicle will be maintained in a clean condition during each trip.
When not driving, the candidate will support the Agency’s supply and logistical support functions by conducting the below tasks:
Stock and maintain pantry areas
Stock and maintain copier areas
Stock and maintain coffee stations
Conduct inventory of supplies and post stockage levels on Agency shared network.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be able to pass a government security check
Experience providing support for Senior Government Official/Executive level functions
Prior experience in a Federal agency is preferred
