R. Johnson Enterprises Corporation in Monticello, IA is looking for one pmo project manager to join our team. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, and reliable.
- Initiates, Plans, Controls, Monitors, Executes, and Closes strategic projects that are owned by the IT department that bring new systems and technologies to the DG ecosystem. This includes on-time delivery using the Dollar General PMO Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and the IT Technology Governance Process (TGP) to maintain Cost, Time, and Quality. Create long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones, adhering to deadlines, and adjusting the schedule as needs or financing for the project change while also proactively managing project risks, and/or issues.
Manage Projects using the R. Johnson Enterprises Corporation PMO SOP and IT TGP:
o Define phase: Assist in the preparation of the business case, assist in the assembly of reports for IT Steering Committee Gate 1 decision. Creation of a Project Workspace (Calendar, Repository, Roadmap, Project Tracker). Project Plan creation and checklist (to include IA, SOX, Critical Fin, DR, Policy Change, SDLC, Security). Understand technical design (data, Process flow, PO) as needed.
o Explore phase: Create and Facilitate project kick-off presentation, create project charter and facilitate project charter review meeting, create and manage program/project documentation storage, facilitate sessions to identify business and technical requirements, facilitate project work-breakdown sessions, create and manage project schedules, facilitate proof-of-concept exercises, facilitate IT Security Assessment review, facilitate and complete all Gate 2 prep activities, assist in the assembly of reports for IT Steering Committee Gate 2 decision. Creation of a RACI Chart. Identify gaps and address.
o Develop/Validate phases: Manage and control the project management process, involve the appropriate decision makers when faced with road blocks, facilitate weekly project control calls, ensure SDLC requirements are completed, IT change control processes are followed, utilize project change management processes, report weekly on project progress, create and verify Stoplight reports, liaise frequently with IT department managers and business function managers to provide a steady flow of communication. Implementation Plan & Approval with applicable CAB Announcement. Facilitate successful system, end to end, and user acceptance testing with internal and/or external resources.
o Implement/Measure phases: Execute implementation. Manage issues, risk, decisions, change, health, and dependencies of the project or program. Act as a conduit of status information during go-live implementations, in accordance with the project plan – ensure ongoing support services are ready and online, conduct post-project review (“lessons learned” sessions), execute activities to close out the project. Identify/verify post implementation tasks. Establish change request process. Validate Solution Delivery to Business and benefits realized.
o Vendor Contract Management: Assist in acquiring Legal department approvals of pending contracts utilizing defined workflow processes; communicate vendor escalations (Risks, Issues, Concerns, and Schedule). Understand the contract/SoW.
Maintain the “Best in Class” PMO Level -Up Brand. Enhance the OCIO and PMO Excellence.
Troubleshoot, corrects, and assists in delivering of Critical Few(s).
Demonstrable leadership skills: consultative supervision, ability to influence others, ability to manage all levels of the organization.
Focuses on meeting project commitments, including communications with sponsors and stakeholders.
Ability to foster trusting relationships with the delivery team, partners, and all project stakeholders.
Project planning and tracking experience using project management software (preferred)
Ability to effectively implement the Standard Operating Procedures of the PMO and the Technology Governance Process to achieve their strategic objectives.
Ability to efficiently manage (5-6) cross-functional, medium to large-sized projects with an average duration greater than 12 months.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form; good listening skills
Knowledge of and/or experience with systems development methodology and/or Infrastructure management.
Delegation and follow-up skills, with emphasis on adherence to deadlines.
Ability to proactively identify project Risk, Issue, and Action Items, and facilitate identification of alternate solutions; resolve conflicts; and create lasting, productive partnerships with clients.
Five years minimum experience in IT required
PMP preferred and willing to obtain within one year
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Retail experience preferred
Agile Methodology experience required
