Employee Benefits Manager

Quest Insurance is seeking a dynamic leader to manage client services for the employee benefits book of business. The ideal candidate understands the insurance industry and can support, manage and grow client/employer accounts. The key points of focus will be servicing employer accounts and acting as a liaison during employer renewals. Job Duties: The successful candidate will work with prospective and existing customers (employer groups) to understand and establish their employee benefit needs. Key duties will include: Account Management: • Obtain quotes from a variety of vendors and prepare proposals and/or comparisons for various employee benefits • Prepare and review proposals and options with customers • Recommend appropriate coverage for renewal, including benefit changes and suggestions for adding new lines of business • Support and advocate for existing client employees to manage and resolve challenging benefit issues • Work with prospective accounts to obtain Broker of Record letters • Proactively handle groups in arrears, cancellations or other service issues to get accounts current and avoid program disruptions Business Development: • Assist President with lead generation • Receive, review, work with and respond to RFPs on a timely basis and keep management informed of progress • Work closely with the personal and commercial line team to cross sell and help promote the agency with existing and future clients • Take initiative in generating marketing strategies and sales ideas to help meet the agency production goals • Work with Technical Support to complete development of forms and templates for employee benefits Product Management and Reporting: • Keep informed of current and changing industry information including: laws, trends, new products, and technological advances • Develop, manage and submit the following reports for timely review with the President: o Applied Systems Sales and Renewal Activity o Weekly Project List o RFP Status and Tracking o Others as requested Candidate Requirements: The successful candidate must be a customer service-oriented go-getter with a positive attitude, strong background in the benefits/insurance space, and ability to manage a variety of fast-paced deadlines. Additional requirements include: • 8+ years of experience with client service in insurance / employee benefits management • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent • Positive, can-do attitude. This is essential for dealing with customers and colleagues; is a critical component of good customer performance; and is considered a cornerstone of both individual and agency success • Superb phone manners and ability to handle difficult clients with poise and positivity • Detail-oriented. Has a strong understanding of employee benefits, and carrier products/supplies, with ability to translate those to specific client requirements • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Self-motivated and work well independently • Ability to work with customers at all levels, as well as insurance carriers and fellow associates • Marketing-oriented professional with focus on customer experience; maintaining and growing a book of business • Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA and ability to maintain strict confidentiality of data • Effective time management skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines across a variety of clients • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) Quest Insurance is an equal opportunity employer.
