GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Industrial Oil & Gas Project Estimator position assists leaders to determine what is necessary to see a project through to completion; this position will work closely with contractors and team members to evaluate relative costs or potential risks and determine the ability to complete a project within the timeframe and budget established by the client.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate with potential customers and perform on-site walkdowns of facilities and collect clear work scope of projects
- Coordinate with the Quest team to address full project scope of turnkey projects
- Analyze required documents, blueprints, and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project
- Collaborate with Engineering team on vendor questions
- Determine what factors of production will influence the cost of a service or product
- Determine material estimates and cost estimates for the product or service
- Create labor estimates for projects
- Develop and maintain relationships with company vendors and contractors
- Manage bids from vendors and contractors
- Use Estimating software to utilize industry standards for time and unit rates
- Use bid data to prepare detailed cost analysis
- Present prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders
- Compile and record actual costs
- Track vendor orders and materials with provided software
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Proficient in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Report writing and strategic planning skills
- Familiar with analyzing requirement data to develop material and cost estimates for all sizes of projects
- Expertise with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets and database managers
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional time and priority managements skills required
EDUCATION, LICENSES AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, finance, accounting, statistics, or other related field; will consider equivalent experience in engineering or project management in lieu of a degree
- Certified Professional Estimator preferred
- Minimum of five years estimating in oil and gas construction required
- Procore Project Management software experience preferred
