Job Description Job Summary Under the direction of the Metrology Supervisor and/or Metrology Manager, the Metrology Gage Engineer will utilize measurement systems to process and report dimensional information and issues, through the use of established quality systems and standard practices, however it is defined, now or in the future, to meet production requirements and exceed our customer’s needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supports and promotes companies Core Values, Safety and Quality Policy. Integral Member of Quality System and process. Communicates Quality concerns thought the reporting process. Through standardized inspection techniques will quantify quality information, issues and relays the information to and from the Program teams and management. Responsible for the quality equipment, fixtures, PC’s, software and instruments used for the collection of data. Any unauthorized miss-use, destruction or tampering with, should be reported to Metrology Management immediately. Follows strict data integrity. The Metrology / Gage Engineer shall report the information, timely and ‘as is,’ without alteration or falsification, as prescribed by the quality system. Understands GD&T, gage design intent and calibration schedules. Proficient in using 3D scanning equipment and or Expert in CMM programming. Must be proficient in using software, such as Polyworks, PCDMIS, Geomagic, etc. Performs as an Internal Auditor.

Properly escalates any non-conformances to the respective departments. Understands, performs and documents Gage R & R’s, Capability Studies and SPC data collection correctly and consistently. Develops Gage Work instructions, based on repeatability. Can perform other duties as assigned by Quality management. Maintains appropriate education as the industry changes to meet our customer’s needs. Education / Experience / Skills High School Education or Equivalent (GED); with 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in inspection and metrology. Has completed the completed training specific to the quality inspection and reporting systems, however it is defined. Intangibles Willingness, to do anything asked WITH the right attitude. Shows Initiative, and anticipates and acts on what needs to be done. Communication, exhibits acuity in verbal and written communication to superiors, peers and especially subordinates. Can demonstrate how to deal with customers/Internal & External (Program Managers, QE’s, other departments...) in a respectful way. Ability to work well in a team atmosphere.

Must be able to work well with others either as the leader of the group or in a subordinate capacity when working with members of management. Not a glory seeker, the candidate can handle being in a supportive role and does not require public acknowledgement. Good Decision Maker, when provided the necessary tools, is able to make sound manufacturing decisions. Candidate will complete core, procedural and good lab practice training as defined by the companies Metrology Training Matrix. Accountabilities This position reports directly to Metrology Manager/Supervisor. Supervisory Responsibilities This job has supervisory responsibilities, within the Metrology Department, by assisting in the development of Metrology technicians.
