Tufting Machine Operator/Setup

Position Summary: Tufting Machine Operator/Technician is an hourly position reporting to the Manufacturing Manager. Operator is responsible for timely performance of all aspects of the Tufting, Finishing and Packaging operations of all carpets, rugs and samples that are scheduled for production and manufactured on the production floor. This will include, but is not limited to, the below listed duties and additional duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Manager or appointees of the Manufacturing Manager.

Responsibilities Include and are not limited to:

- Backing tufting frames

- Equipment periodic maintenance

- Interpretation of orders

- Computer operations to ensure correct setup for each order ? Inventory monitoring & control for all raw materials and consumables

- Completion of jobs within specifications ? Near constant checking of pile height, scissor cut, and needle sharpness

- Application of latex backing ? Shearing operations

- Inspection and photography of orders

- Filing of the retained samples ? Generating inspection reports

- Packaging of orders per established guidelines

- Administrative tasks as necessary to perform job responsibilities & requirements

- General maintenance/cleaning of the work areas

- General awareness of computer security requirements for use & access devices

- Ensure there are never any unattended open containers on the manufacturing floor

Required Skills & Competencies

- 3 years’ experience in related field(s

- Shift - 1st shift from 6am-4pm
