Job Description


•1 plus years credentialing experience in medical staff services

•All credentialing, and licensing requirements for both Physician, and the Ambulatory Surgical Centers

•Knowledge of credentialing software preferable; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel applications and database systems

•Knowledge of provider credentialing in a physician office, managed care, and hospital setting

•Familiar with the State Board of Physician Licensing applications

•Familiar with Medicare credentialing procedures and protocols for physician and ASC credentialing

•Strong organization, problem-solving, and error detection skills

•Understanding of computer technology related to credentialing

•Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, organizational, business communication and time management skills

•Ability to work with a wide range of sensitive and confidential issues



•Ability to review and interpret patient bills, vouchers, error lists and reports; identify incorrect data and have the skills to make the appropriate corrections

•Oversees and/or performs all aspects of the licensing, credentialing, and appointment process

•Collects and analyzes information, preparing files for approval process and ensuring that credentialing files are kept accurate, complete and current

•Assists in the credentialing process for medical staff, allied health professionals, locum tenens and visiting physicians, etc

•Work with medical staff leadership and hospital clinical staff for the approval and ongoing review of these practitioners

•Responds to outside inquires for credentialing information concerning medical staff

•To assist the sales team in credentialing candidates for various medical clients in the area

•Initiates, oversees, administers, verifies, compiles, coordinates and maintains confidential research required for credentialing of initial applicants (Medical Assistants, Nurses, Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners)

•Maintains all insurance credentials, and all state licensing for the providers in the practice

•Ensures that all credentialing, and licensing remain current, and up to date for all providers pursuant to expiration date

•Effectively communicate with management any/all issues that impact and/or delay work flow processes

•Document and report all changes, and updates to management

•Implements, coordinates, monitors, and maintains effective credentialing processes intended to appropriately credential physicians and non-physicians for reappointment and/or clinical privileges
