Gauge and Instrumentation Calibration and Repair
�. Service all incoming gaging. Determine gauges suitability for calibration.
�. Repair Measuring and Test Equipment (M&TE) or send out to an approved vendor when the repair is outside the scope of Calibration team.
�. Calibrate gauging per Customer’s procedures and QMS guidelines.
�. Ensure calibration labels are accurate and correct on gauging across the site.
�. Support the Instrumentation department as needed, i.e. verifying pyrometers.
�. Use of electronic (voltmeters, ammeters, temperature calibrators) and mechanical (pressure gages) instrumentation.
�. Issue Out-of-Tolerance Reports on gauging as needed.
�. Ensure that all new gauging meet requirements in accordance with QMS criteria.
Calibration Software and Metrology Gauge Recall System
�. Maintain computer database gauge tracking system
�. Identify all (M&TE); assign unique gage identifier used for tracking.
�. Initiate required documentation on all new incoming.
�. Input all associated data involved with calibrations into calibration database.
�. Evaluate Calibration procedures and work instructions to assure accuracy of the process.
�. Technical writing ability to create ongoing procedures.
�. Set-up and evaluate new calibration procedures submitted by vendors.
�. Evaluate existing gauging for application of use on final product.
�. Recall all M&TE for recertification.
�. Track all overdue M&TE, and initiate the appropriate actions for past due gauging.
Gauge and Equipment Acquisition
�. Responsible for purchasing plant gauging utilized for verify product conformance.
�. Maintain approved vendor listings for calibration houses.
�. Provide Manufacturing, Program, and Process Engineering groups technical assistance/direction in the procurement of instrumentation.
�. Generate required documentation for procuring Quality instrumentation purchases.
�. Responsible of balancing and maintaining a corporate credit card account, if issued.
�. Stock and maintain spare parts inventory for gaging used in all departments.
�. Perform gauge R/R studies on instrumentation and gauges utilized to monitor critical processes and verify product conformance.
�. Assist engineering with the development of gauge specifications and measure of validity.
Additional QMS support possible
�. Support Quality inspection activities, i.e. final product AQL, Receiving Inspection.
�. Quality CMM operations, i.e. first article inspection, operation’s equipment validation.
�. Work is performed in a production environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Limited exposure to physical risk.
�. Some inspection is performed in laboratory conditions.
�. Ability to work alternate shifts, including days, nights, holidays, weekends.
Education and Certifications
�. High School Diploma, or equivalent
�. AA/AS degree, preferred
�. Previous quality inspection experience is preferred.
�. Previous experience in Calibration/Metrology is required.
�. Working knowledge of blueprint dimensions and tolerances is required.
�. Proficient in using basic hand-held measurement tools: micrometers, calipers, Vernier calipers, drop dials, and etc.
�. Previous experience with optical measurement systems is preferred: optical comparator and/or profilometer.
�. Basic knowledge of coordinate measurement machines (CMM), preferred.
�. Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook), required.
�. Good communication skills.
�. Familiar with calibration gauge tracking information systems, preferred: e.g. GageTrack, EnGage, and ProCal.
