Job Description

Manufacturing-Welding Engineer

If you wish to be part of a manufacturing team that is diverse and ever changing; Quest – Global may be the place for you. We are a world class provider of engineering services partnering with world class manufacturers in pursuit of business growth and leadership. If you like to work in a fast paced, demanding and challenging culture we can offer personal and professional growth only limited by your willingness to explore the next opportunity.

Who is QuEST?

Our goal is to become the most recognized and trusted global engineering partner for our customers—Fortune 500 companies in the Aerospace, Medical Devices, Oil & Gas, Power, and Transportation industries. We know we can find solutions to their most important technical and business challenges they encounter. We aren’t consultants. We help them make their products the most competitive in the world and that’s how we’ve grown to over 11,000 problem solvers from 50 centers around the world. We aspire to be a 100-year company, which doesn’t mean staid and boring, but rather, we evolve and adapt to create the frontier of the engineering services industry.

The Team

The manufacturing engineering program delivers production solutions to aerospace OEMs across the East Coast. Made up of manufacturing and industrial engineers, this program provides a variety of services to our customers: process planning, tooling/fixture design, CNC/CMM programming, QN reduction, and shop floor support. From aircraft to spacecraft, come join our team and work on the cutting edge of the aerospace industry.

The Role

We need a mid-level manufacturing engineer to support our customer. This role will include supporting and implementing modern welding techniques to improve our customer’s production process.

Our Culture

We just crossed the 21-year mark, and despite remarkable growth, we have maintained a culture of empowerment at all levels—what we call intrapreneurial. You will be part of the decision making to drive continuous improvements so we can stay happy and healthy as a business in a challenging industry. Not everyone is a great fit. We will throw you into the deep end (with lots of support), but if you want to swim, you have much opportunity. We’re not a place where laziness, ego, or rigid thinking fit in, and that’s intentional. You can do more at this company than you can in twice the time anywhere else. We accelerate success; you control the throttle and hold the yoke.

Job Functions

  • Develop welding techniques, procedures, and application of welding equipment to problems involving fabrication of metals.
  • Utilize knowledge of production specifications, properties and characteristics of metals and metal alloys, and engineering principles.
  • Conducts research and development investigations to develop and test new fabrication processes and procedures, improve existing or develop new welding equipment,
  • Develop new or modify current welding methods, techniques, and procedures, discover new patterns of welding phenomena, or to correlate and substantiate hypotheses.
  • Prepares technical reports as result of research and development and preventive maintenance investigations.

Qualifications

We are excited to talk to you if:

· BS in Manufacturing Engineering / Mechanical Engineering discipline with 5+ years or relevant experience plus demonstrated hands on manufacturing / shop floor experience.

· Proven ability to initiate and execute change into mature processes.
