Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate is expected to evaluate, implement and create new structural design solutions for our customer’s current hardware.  In most cases you will work to develop procedures and analysis plans for different types of serviceable and repairable limits.  You will present your findings, document all your work and make recommendations to our Aerospace customer through our customer’s standard Structural Analysis Memo document.  It will be your responsibility to guide and train less experienced engineers in order to help our organization grow in proficiency. Providing in-person support in the office for these engineers is greatly preferred. In addition, you will be the face of QuEST to your customers. Listen to customer’s problems, and build on the experiences you have personally had, then develop innovative ways to solve their engineering problems. 
  • Use Finite Element Analysis tools, such as ANSYS, NASTRAN, and PATRAN to conduct 3D and 2D static, dynamic, vibration, and thermal analyses.
  • Provide in-person support to less experienced engineers through training, daily guidance and technical reviews.
  • Work in a fast-paced, team environment to meet quick deadlines.
  • Learn and apply our customer’s standard procedures.
  • Support quotation efforts with accurate estimates of structures time required to complete tasks.
  • Develop procedures and analysis plans for different types of serviceable and  repairable limits.
  • Create Structural Analysis Memos which includes documenting all work, presenting findings to our customers and making recommendations.
  • Review the work of other analysts using standards and specifications as criteria.
  • Make technical recommendations based on engineering judgment and interpretation of analysis results.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for improvement and take ownership for implementation.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS, or MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience with structural analysis.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience with FEA, i.e., ANSYS or Abaqus.
  • Experience, or academic background with mechanics of materials, vibrations, metal fatigue, finite element analysis and fractures mechanics.
  • Due to the nature of the work,  only US Citizens are eligible.
