Support testing, perform trouble shooting, and assemble fixtures with minimal input from engineering. To achieve this goal we will cross train the technicians with the help of senior technicians and/or engineers. This position reports to the test lab manager.
+ Education: AS Engineering, AS Computer Science or Engineering Technology minimum GPA 3.5/4.0 (transcript required)
+ Experience: 3+ years in RF.
+ Test fixture fabrication:
+ Operating a drill press, end mill, table saw, lathe, and have good mechanical insight into solving problems on the fly.
+ Prototype Assembly:
+ Hand-place and solder SMT and TH electronic components with appropriate ESD precautions using tweezers or vacuum wand and a microscope. SMT sizes down to 0201 and QFNs.
+ Use essential tools such as a hot-plate, soldering iron, tweezers, microscope, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.
+ Work from rough schematics, blueprints and oral instructions to construct developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components.
+ Work typically includes interaction with development and/or manufacturing engineering personnel. May perform rework.
+ Electronic Test:
+ Setup and run various test stations including the ability to lift test equipment (typically 10-50 lbs) including digital multi-meters, DC power supplies, RF signal generators, RF spectrum analyzers, signal analyzers, network analyzers, RF power meters, etc.
+ Calibrating, testing and troubleshooting complex RF test systems under the guidance of an engineer.
+ Software Knowledge
+ RF Board Layout and Design:
+ Design and develop custom test fixtures and control hardware.
+ Interface with suppliers for fixture/board manufacturing.
+ Data Logging - Must be familiar with the use of MS Excel for data entry and simple analysis functions such as sum, average, minimum, maximum, etc. Ideally capable of generating simple graphs such as bar or column graphs and line graphs to illustrate trends.
