QTEC Aerospace is seeking a MID-LEVEL/SENIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER to join our team of professionals in Huntsville, AL. The qualified applicant will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government. Job Summary

QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The qualified applicant will become part of the Performance Analysis team.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:

  • Apply expertise in engineering/physics to perform systems performance analysis on the missile defense program system and must be able to assess and dig through data to problem solve and understand why the system performs the way it does through an understanding of the data and underlying concepts
  • Help train and mentor other engineers in conducting performance analysis
  • Use simulations of the missile defense program system to characterize performance and assess technical performance measures that are derived from simulation output
  • Present and explain results to other engineering teams and managers in a clear and concise manner
  • Leverage their software programming knowledge to create independent tools to assist in automation and evaluation of results from the various simulations
    • This includes tools to load the simulation on blade servers, pre-processing tools for quality checks and formatting, and post-processing tools for formatting outputs, plotting results, and analyzing results

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Senior level: 9+ years of experience
  • Mid-level: 5+ years of experience

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Understanding of common missile defense concepts such as system and source tracks, application of radars to tracking, covariance and error, defended area, and the kill chain concept of operations
  • Demonstrated ability to apply these concepts to assess performance of a missile defense system or component
  • Experience working in a missile defense program (GMD, Aegis BMD, THAAD, etc)
  • Leveraging aerospace concepts to develop software scripts experience
  • Ability to write scripts in Matlab and/or Python
  • Senior - Monte Carlo simulations to produce performance data experience
  • Senior - Modeling and/or assessing performance data for a missile defense system or relevant equivalent experience
  • Senior - Experience writing software scripts and tools to automate processes such as quality control checks, data formatting, and managing runs on a blade server cluster
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed
  • Ability to work independently and will possess the poise and flexibility required to work in a highly dynamic environment
  • Self-motivated and customer-oriented

Security Clearance

Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.
