The Hotel Manager is responsible for modeling and inspiring the Farm team with the Vision, Mission, Pillars, Service Standards. Hotel Manager manages the day-to-day operations of Pursell Farms ensuring the highest standard of service for guests. Responsibilities include managing operational departments to deliver the mission and exceptional balanced results for the Pillars(Kingdom, Associate, Guest, Owners). Working closely with the Managing Director, the Hotel Manager is responsible for adhering to brand standards as well as all applicable local, state and federal requirements. They are responsible for ensuring quality service, meeting and/or exceeding financial goals, short and long -term planning goals and day-to day operational goals.
- Overall Management
Direct, support and lead designated operating departments on the Farm. Serve as a role
model, mentor and coach.
Lead Unrivaled Southern Hospitality results for a memorable and flawless Guest Experience at the level of top resorts in the world
Trains, develops, and ensures performance of team members to ensure adherence to all policies and operational procedures and AAA 5 Diamond standards
Strives to ensure the overall success of the organization.
Serve as an Ambassador in the community to support the success of the organization.
- Guest Satisfaction
Directs and ensures AAA 5 diamond standards and procedures are followed.
Ensures team member schedules provide desired guest experience while balancing financial objectives outlined in budget/forecast
Ensure timely response to guest needs.
Resolve guest complaints as appropriate to maintain guest satisfaction and loyalty to Farm.
Regularly review service scores to identify areas needing improvement and implement appropriate changes.
Ensure the team members regularly adheres to all guest service basics such as uniforms, name tags and proper guest greeting.
Be knowledgeable on hotel facilities, services and activities to assist team members and guests in recommending resort activities.
Develop, implement and direct Quality Improvement Initiatives at Pursell Farms
Work closely with all operating departments to insure a seamless customer experience for all guests
Develop, implement, direct the Pursell Farms Recreational Amenities Programs such as Bikes, Hiking Trails, Fitness Programs and Kids Programs
Ensures immaculate cleanliness and condition of all facilities at Farm
Escort and assist VIP guests.
- Team Resources
Owns recruiting, hiring, training, development and retention of a motivated and efficient team.
Clearly communicate the standards of performance while contributing to individual and team success.
Ensure all required training occurs (including orientation, safety, fire, and blood-borne pathogen) in a timely manner and is appropriately documented.
Coach, counsel, resolve conflicts, discipline and terminate as appropriate through fair treatment and in compliance with resort policies and procedures.
Conduct associate performance and salary reviews in a timely manner and in accordance with Pursell Farms guidelines.
Maintain a positive team work environment that is free from harassment.
Promote Pursell Farms as an employer of choice in the community.
- Sales and Profitability
Develop, recommend, implement and manage the departmental monthly/annual budgets, business/marketing plan, and objectives to meet/exceed expectations.
In conjunction with the Sales staff, attend site visits, service meeting planners and market Rooms to meet/exceed sales and financial objectives.
Effectively manage and optimize rooms, food & beverage pricing and inventory to best yield the asset(Revenue Management)
Investigate new and improved service options and methods.
In conjunction with Marketing, develop and direct implementation of promotions, displays, and presentations to capture more guests and an increase market share.
Ensure costs(labor, direct expenses) are within budgeted guidelines.
Review vendors and products to ensure procurement of top quality products at the best prices. Submit recommendations for changes and improvements to the General Manager.
- Life Safety/Risk Management
Ensure all government and state regulations are adhered to.
Direct and promote an accident prevention/safety program to minimize liabilities and related expenses.
Ensure appropriate Rooms sanitary, safety, security and emergency procedures are in place, team members are trained and follow and comply with policies, standards and regulations.
Notify the Managing Director of any potential liability and propose proper course of action to prevent Pursell Farms from incurring any such liability.
Make recommendations to the Managing Director on additional safeguards as appropriate
Oversee and direct the Guest Loyalty and Manager on Duty Program
Responsible for all Security Operations and Initiatives including Emergency Planning, Fire Prevention and Response and EMS Response
- Asset Management
Lead the preservation(cleanliness/maintenance) of all hotel assets through a weekly walk through program with appropriate departments.
Ensure team members are properly trained in cash handling procedures and credit card transactions.
Ensure adequate controls are installed and maintained for the protection of the hotel's financial assets against loss or misappropriation.
Ensure preventative maintenance programs are in place to protect assets and maintenance related problems are reported to Engineering through proper channels.
Inspect and evaluate the condition of the Rooms areas, equipment and inventories.
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business or similar field of study highly preferred.
- Certification (s) as Certified Hospitality Administrator, Housekeeping Executive, Certified Food & Beverage Executive, or other hospitality certifications preferred
- 3-5 years prior experience in an upper-luxury resort as a Director of Rooms, Director of Food & Beverage, Director of Operations, Hotel Manager highly preferred
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of accounting and budgeting along with the ability to compile and analyze data
- Ability to identify, research and resolve issues using sound business decisions
- Excellent at motivating, coaching, and leading top producing teams
- Be an excellent listener and communicator with guest, team members, vendors and others
