Our client is seeking an HR Manager for their location in the Indianapolis, IN area. RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE HR MANAGER:
- Lead a Human Resource team with up to 3 direct reports
- Serve as trusted business partner and advisor to leaders
- Develop partnerships and conduct outreach continuing to build a diverse and inclusive culture
- Professionally perform employee and labor relations duties to support fast-paced, complex and ever-changing business locations with employees across multiple sites and states
- Partner with leaders to assess employee talent and development of employee growth plans
- Create and implement retention strategies and engagement activities
- Develop and direct Human Resources policy in alignment with business strategy and initiatives
- Act as primary point of contact for employees for guidance on policies and processes
- Conduct investigations into complaints such as harassment, discrimination, and other employee concerns and make recommendations for resolution
- Provide training and guidance on employee performance reviews, annual pay review process and succession planning
- Maintain and administer all employee personnel files and data through HRIS
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS FOR THE HR MANAGER:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field preferred
- HR certification, SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP, or SHRM-CP desirable
- 5 years plus of successful experience in human resources, preferably in manufacturing and distribution
- Solid grasp of State and Federal regulations across HR functions
- Experience with HRIS, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office software
- Sound communication, judgment, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a matrixed environment
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities
- HR team supervisory experience
- Union experience preferred
OTHER ATTRIBUTES:
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time include some overnight
- Willingness to work in an office setting in Indianapolis area 3 days per week and remote 2 days per week
