Job Summary

The Office of Instructional Technology is responsible for assisting faculty, staff, and students with technical concerns and training for Blackboard Learn, Lecture Capture (Camtasia, Kaltura), Web Conferencing (WebEx, Google Hangouts), Accessibility Remediation (tagging documents and captioning), as well as providing weekly email and social media updates to the campus community.   

As an OIT graduate student worker, you will work with faculty, staff, and students to help troubleshoot and resolve customer concerns regarding PNW supported instructional software.  You will also be required to work individually and/or in a group setting to troubleshoot and problem solve first and second line technical issues by answering the phones, greeting customers, or responding to email requests.  Other tasks may include: creating documentation, organizing data using Excel, or making flyers/handouts in Office, Google, or Adobe.   

Other requirements include: 

  • Must be a current student at Purdue University Northwest, enrolled in at least 6 credit hours while maintaining a GPA of 2.5 or above 

  • Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills 

  • Working knowledge of computing systems 

  • Good communication and listening skills 

  • Highly organized and pays attention to details 

  • Is polite and respectful to other coworkers and customers at all times 

  • Able to work independently or in a group with ease 

  • Reports to work on time
