Pharmacy Order Entry Technician

Shifts: Overnight (8p – 7a or like) & Mid (12p – 8:30p)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Print/Sort Labels for filling prescriptions
- Review and input new, refill, infusion, house stock and emergency pharmacy orders in a timely and accurate manner according to client-specific criteria while maintaining acceptable production quotas as determined by experience and company policy
- Enter returns/credits into the pharmacy system when applicable
- Must be able to perform mathematical computations with accuracy
- Triage and prioritization of received orders (whether phone, fax or eRX)
- Exceptional customer service skills, especially telephone skills
- Maintains and demonstrates knowledge in the following areas of pharmacy practice
- Controlled drug processing
- Pharmacy calculations
- Generic-trade name relationships
- Must be able to work with high attention to detail with the realization that errors potentially have serious consequences
- Must be able to multi-task
- Participates in ongoing education and training related to department and organization
- Maintains confidentiality, security and integrity of protected health information
- Displays high degree of self initiative in anticipating and resolving issues
- Develop proficiency in the utilization of all pharmacy systems (ie document imaging, legacy pharmacy computer operating system)
- Must be proficient in English (read, write and verbal communication)
- Assist with training of new pharmacy team members
- Any and all other duties as assigned.
Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Professional Requirements:
- Strong Customer Service skills
- Detail oriented
Professional Experience/Licensure
- State Pharmacy Technician Registration and/or certification
- PTCB certification, a plus
- Minimum of 1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience
- Long Term Care experience preferred
