Prudent Technology is seeking Sr. Azure Cloud Engineer with strong systems, software, and Agile experience to support our program at the FDIC. As a Azure Cloud Engineer, you will be performing Cloud Support Services but not limited to the following:

Job Requirements or Skills Required:

  • Design and implementation of automated infrastructure in on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Onboarding applications to Azure, cloud.gov or any cloud platform.
  • Set up Access Control (display, enable, and disable access to Service Plans).
  • Manage users (view users and org roles, view the org quota, add and manage users in a space)
  • Configure and assist in migrating of applications from on-prem to a cloud platform (Azure, cloud.gov, etc.)
  • Ensure standard platform wide integrations such as SSL, SSO, email (O365), SPLUNK, CASB, etc. are operational and actively resolve any integration issues with the respective teams that support those services.
  • Deploy production applications through automated pipelines
  • Handle all basic administrative functions including Cloud Support mailbox, user account maintenance and provisioning, operational reports and dashboards, workflows and other routine tasks.
  • Manage and monitor changes; Ensure the production environment is controlled and any changes are made are done in accordance with the Platform Team and FDIC requirements and standards.
  • Review / audit platform setup and debug logs/SPLUNK log and event monitoring reports for anomalies, unauthorized access and suspicious activities and report to Federal staff.
  • Implement effective resolutions for all open FISMA findings at the platform level through the Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) process.
  • Implement and support platform level security controls needed to maintain the platform level ATO and operationalize the platform.
  • Manage buildpacks, domains and routes
  • Administer container networking
  • Resource utilization and Scale Application(s)
  • Configure Health Monitor notifications (24x7 Support)
  • Provide recommendations and considerations for designing and running an application
  • Start, restart, and restage applications
  • Troubleshoot application deployment and health
  • Monitor and recommend memory allocation
  • Provide Service and automated backups for S3 buckets
  • Build custom code (Bot) as required
  • Integrate Application Email
  • Internet accessible "git" repository
  • Provide database support for MySQL and PostGres
  • Provide DevOps support for applications
  • Evaluates and develops Java based tools

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, Master's Degree preferred;
  • Advanced knowledge of cloud engineering concepts;
  • 7+ years of experience setting up and configuring cloud services such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services;
  • 5+ years of experience onboarding applications to cloud platforms such as Azure, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, and/or Red Hat Open Shift;
  • Extensive experience maintaining platform wide integrations such as SSL, SSO, O365, Splunk, CASB, etc.; Extensive experience with MySQL and PostGres databases;
  • Advanced knowledge of programming languages such as Java, C, Python, Shell Scripting, Golang, etc.; Significant experience automating Infrastructure setup and application deployment using best practices of CI/CD with tools like Ansible, Jenkins, and Terraform;
  • Expert knowledge of traditional and cloud-based security tools, best practices and policies including demonstrated experience protecting all layers of the application stack.
