Summary:


Our award-winning client is seeking a Vice President of Sales who will develop and manage a best-in-class sales organization, driving the sales integration of finished goods and sundries to their customer base, increasing the sales/wallet-share growth through cross-selling and sales team collaboration. This role will serve as a strategic thought partner for the entire management team and is responsible for evaluating new line-of-business opportunities as well as developing and fostering strategic supplier partnerships and customer relationships. This individual will be a member of the Leadership Team and will report to the CEO.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Create and implement a sales strategy and structure that facilitates professional sales management and enables the sales team to drive revenue and gross profit. Identify and proliferate best sales practices.
  • Work with Leadership Team to develop annual detailed sales budget and monitor budget against actual results.
  • Collaborate with the Operations teams to support customer, product line, and geographic revenue growth.
  • Partner with Leadership Team to develop and implement strategic sales objectives, with a major focus on sales growth, cross-selling, private label products, and the growth of finished goods across the company.
  • Partner with the leadership team to create and implement professional sales tools that enable and support scalable revenue growth such as skill development, territory alignment/management, CRM, and more.
  • Establish and monitor key sales and profitability metrics and utilize analytics to identify areas of opportunity, or concern and create action plans to address them.
  • Assists in identifying, recruiting, and retaining high-quality sales team members and promote teamwork company-wide.
  • Collaborate with the sales, operations, and leadership teams to analyze market trends, promote, and secure new technology, or assets to enhance the sales team’s effectiveness in growing sales and/or improving the customer experience.
  • Take existing sales team to the next level by setting sales goals to new heights.
  • Cultivate, meeting, and maintain effective relationships and communication with key customers, strategic suppliers, and service providers.
  • Analyze market trends, identify and advocate for new products, or suppliers that will enhance the sales team’s effectiveness in growing sales and/or improving the customer experience.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the company’s customers, markets, competitors, and influencers.
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.


Requirements:


  • Strong Supplier / Distributor experience
  • 8+ years of Sales Management experience (people management)
  • 10+ years of progressive Sales experience
  • Significant knowledge in product/market development, technical sales, and channel management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or equivalent experience
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Suite.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to collaborate, lead, inspire and motivate the team and the organization as a whole.
  • Natural problem solver and multi-tasker highly comfortable with a fast-paced environment requiring creative solutions.
  • Innovative spirit to work cross-functionally in developing organizational growth concepts and ideas.
  • Strategic, creative, confident, organized, and analytical.
  • Able to build and maintain relation.
  • Varies - Able to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Successful candidates will live and office within the company's geographical footprint.
