We are seeking a strong Meat Department Manager with a background ideally in the grocery store space or similar, for an award winning, privately held company and operator of 2 one-stop supermarkets, pharmacy and 1 Gas Station / Car Wash, employing 300+ and setting up future growth.
There is a relocation package available, and is about 25% less expensive to live in Aberdeen than Minneapolis.
Responsible for establishing, implementing, and coordinating the sales, costs, and profit goals in the meat department through customer relations, proper department operations, and supervision of assigned employees.
Ensure proper execution and compliance with policies and procedures. Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards. Meet goals by training, motivating, mentoring, and providing feedback to department managers. Plan special promotions and displays. Ensure appropriate inventory levels and customer satisfaction through excellent service.
Required Skills and Experience:
3+ years in managing a Meat Department and managing a team.
Understanding of Primary cuts, meat cutting principals, detailed cuts, equipment use, planograms related to case presentation.
Competent in expense control, labor targets, buying, merchandising, inventory control, category management and merchandising.
