SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Personal Trainer is responsible for conducting health/fitness/performance evaluations for clients/members/patients, then using the results to design scientifically based exercise programs. The Personal Trainer will lead private, semi-private, and small group training sessions, as well as provide group fitness classes/coaching services. The primary goal of this position is positive client/member/patient outcomes. The metrics used to measure success for this position are training revenue and client retention rate. Personal Trainers will begin as part-time employees and remain as such until full time employment criteria is met.
Conduct comprehensive health/fitness/performance evaluations and functional movement screens. Then, design and implement scientifically based training programs that address cardiovascular health, functional strength, postural alignment, joint mobility, chronic pain reduction, stress management, behavior modification, and realistic goal setting. Exercise instruction will include private, semi-private, small group training sessions, and fitness coaching.
Responsible for maintaining personal schedule and working in conjunction with member services to ensure training sessions are logged accurately and training revenue is collected in a timely manner from clients engaged in fitness services.
Will be responsible for completing and submitting monthly, quarterly, and annual department reports (i.e. training revenue, client retention, etc.)
Give health/fitness/performance related presentations on campus and in the community. Attend health fairs and other community activities that further the mission of Provision Health & Fitness and Provision Health Partners.
Assist with regular exercise equipment cleaning and preventative maintenance.
Work in conjunction with physical therapy staff and other medical staff on campus to reintegrate clients/patients back into activities for daily living.
Develop and instruct group fitness classes (10-30 participants) for members of all fitness levels.
Must have a genuine concern for the health and wellbeing of others
Required: Bachelor degree in a health related field
Required: NSCA, ACSM, or NASM certification; Preferred: At least one Group Exercise certification
Required: CPR/AED certification; Preferred: First Aid certification

Physical Demand/Work Environment:
The position of Personal Trainer requires a high level of physical fitness. Personal Trainers need to be able to lift 50lbs from the floor, stand for long periods of time, and demonstrate exercises/exercise routines.
Due to hours of operation and the nature of the fitness industry, Personal Trainers may be required to work early morning, evening, weekends and split shifts.
Because this position is an advocate for health and wellbeing, Personal Trainers must personally maintain a high standard of health and fitness.
