Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for: planning, managing, and designing maintenance machinery. Assist with budget, planning, and schedule facility modifications. Manage Maintenance Supervisors, Maintenance Mechanics and Clerks so that all objectives of these positions are met. With limited direction, administer overall maintenance functions of the plant.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Preferably in Engineering)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications
  • 7-11 years of management experience in Manufacturing, preferably food manufacturing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead a team of 15-20 employees for a 24/7 food manufacturing facility
  • Draft and adhere to an annual maintenance budget.
  • Works with Management to attain goals, carry out strategies, plans, and policies to increase profitability and success of the Company.
  • Participates in all internal and external audits.
  • Responsible for the hiring, development of maintenance crew
  • Schedule and implement of all PM’s, repairs, modifications to minimize downtime
  • Possess in-depth knowledge in repairs and maintenance of processing equipment and systems within a food manufacturing facility
  • Support all guidelines of GMP's, FDA, and OSHA standards to ensure that the plant complies.
  • Reports any unsafe or hazardous work conditions or safety-related issues to Management
  • Maintain a safe work environment for all employees.
  • Communicate with management team as to resolution of issues as they pertain to the maintenance department.
  • Monitor weekly payroll and insure it is accurate in the payroll system, approves payroll fix errors for hourly EE’s
  • Solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor inventory of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary.
  • Enhances, implements, and enforces policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation.
  • Conducts interviews, appraisal performances, on boarding, and disciplinary meetings including terminations.
  • Fills out appropriate paperwork, i.e., hiring, termination, replacement, performance evaluations, accident reports, vacation requests, and counseling forms.
  • Ability to influence and promote change on all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to demonstrate discretion and business ethics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
