Software Project Manager

Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Software Project Manager with a solid background in commercially available SaaS software solutions, change management, resource management, and process improvement for technology delivery. The candidate should have experience with SDLC and participating in product enhancements related to digital transformation in an enterprise technology organization. This individual will partner with product management, development, and QA to plan customer facing software products and maintain productive relationships with business stakeholders, build on a detailed understanding of our solutions, processes, people, systems, and priorities. He/she will document stakeholder requirements for technology changes to systems, data, processes, and workflows. The Project Manager coordinates the planning, development, and implementation of software solutions to align information technology solutions with business initiatives. Responsible for working with internal customers in identifying information opportunities and practical solutions using existing or new business systems technology.

Essential duties and Responsibilities

  • The role’s first and primary responsibility will be focused on the delivery of current roadmap product enhancements.
  • Uses acquired skills and experience related to product solutions and resource management to provide support to end users and facilitates solving their business problems / issues with software functionality and available technology.
  • Leads in the tracking and management of tasks, user stories and milestones using approved software tools.
  • Assists with and advises on resource management dependencies and roadblocks.
  • Assists with the creation of procedures for applications functionality.
  • May be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of timelines, manage sprint reviews and standups.
  • May be responsible for training users to interpret information systems reports, and effectively use the software.
  • Partners with Product Management, Development, QA to provide solutions on time and on budget.
  • Works with other departmental personnel in developing corporate strategies to meet current and long-term organizational needs, identifying other software tools and hardware necessary for successful business problem resolution.
  • Assists in defining project scopes and objectives.
  • Work with the technical teams and vendors to develop effort and budget estimates and manage against those estimates.
  • Assists in assembling project teams, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying resources needed, and developing and working to achieve project schedules, results, and deadlines.
  • Performs tasks utilizing excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to promote a team environment.
  • Perform other work-related duties and special projects as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Business, or a related discipline preferred. PMP and/or Agile Certification is required.
  • 7 + years of experience in project management, program management, change management / business relationship management, in a commercially available software product environment.
  • Experience with consumer facing products primarily for small businesses.
  • Experience managing staff and senior stakeholder relationships by providing detailed regular reports on status.
  • Strong skills with change management and process improvement.
  • Experience working closely with technical teams and vendors to develop effort and budget estimates and to manage against those estimates.
  • Skilled with MS Project or related tools with an ability to create a project plans and related artifacts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
