PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT– Residential Real Estate (Condo/Co-op)
Prestigious, well established real estate management company is looking for an experienced Property Accountant/Financial Analyst
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Review monthly reports - check variances, cash balances/bank rec & cash flow/AP
Monitor accuracy of commercial billing – rent increases/escalations/lease exp.
Check accuracy of unit charges for sublet, storage, bicycle, fitness, etc. income
Monitor payroll, utilities, contracts, supplies etc. for OT and consumption in comparison to portfolio averages
Make necessary re-classifications and reconcile balance sheet accounts
Prepare cash flow and funding analysis for capital project costs
Monitor and fund capital expenditures
Prepare annual budgets
Establish enduring relationships accounting staff, property managers, at least one member of the board for each building and professionals
Attend meetings during the day and in the evening to present various reports
Prepare work papers for auditors
Must have strong analytical and communication skills
Ability to follow procedures and lead by example
- Reliable, professional demeanor
- Must have BA in accounting
- Must have a professional appearance
- Proficiency in MDS, Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point
- Must be responsive and meet deadlines for cyclical reports
Industry experience – more than 5 years a plus.
