Job Description
At Project Transition, it's our mission to enable individual persons who have serious mental illness, co-occurring substance use disorder and/or a dual diagnoses of SMI and IDD live a life that is meaningful to her or him in the community on terms she/he defines.
Position Overview:
- Provide psychiatric services for an assigned community
- Provide Psychiatrist Evaluations for assigned members
- Provide individual assessment and medication consultation to assigned members
- Prescribe to and monitor response by assigned members for all psychiatric medications
- Approve any medications prescribed by outside medical providers
- Participate in case consultation as requested by program Director
- Conduct and document collaborative activity with various providers, referral sources, insurance companies, and regulatory agencies
- Complete training's as aligned with regulatory compliance
Qualifications
- Degree in medicine or osteopathy from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy in the United States of America or a valid doctoral degree from a foreign school of medicine and evidence of successful competition of ECFMG
- A completed psychiatry residency in an ACGME accredited residency program.
- Diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
- A current and valid North Carolina medical license
- A complete listing of all health care settings wherein privileges have been granted
- Valid and current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification
- Current CPR Certification.
