Job Description

Working with the Project New Generation family our first priority is our clients and ensuring that we provide quality care and services, We are looking for Caregivers to provide services to individuals with developmental disabilities. A Caregiver provides direct care to residents including: compliance with the house rules, participating in meal preparation, transporting to and from activities (if a qualified driver), assist in the self-administration of medication, completing daily documentation, implement treatment goals and objectives under the supervision of the Program Manager, assist residents in their independent daily living skills, maintain the house environmental needs.

Essential Responsibilities/Job Duties

  • Performing personal care tasks, including assistance with basic personal hygiene and grooming, feeding, and ambulation, medical monitoring, and health care related tasks. Fostering positive relationships between individuals served and their housemates
  • Ensuring client safety and maintaining a safe environment
  • Assisting with toileting, including bedpans, urinals, and commode chairs
  • Reminding/assisting client with self-administration of medications (with proper training)
  • Encouraging self-help activities
  • Reporting changes in client's condition or family situation to the office
  • Documenting services provided
  • Performing home management functions such as light housekeeping, laundry, bed making, and cleaning
  • Planning meals, shopping for groceries, preparing and serving food/meals, feeding and clean-up
  • Accompanying client to scheduled appointments
  • Transporting clients or running errands for clients
  • Other duties as assigned






· Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card


· First Aid

· Article 9

· Prevention and Support

· High School Diploma or GED

  • DCW & Habilitation training
  • Able to lift at least 50lbs
  • Calm and Patient characteristics
  • Reliable transportation

· Valid Driver’s License

· 1 year of customer care, behavioral health, or related experience in an assisted living or behavioral health group/residential home preferred.
