Job Description

Progeny Systems is seeking a Control Account Manager to work out of our Canonsburg, PA office. The Control Account Manager (CAM) is given the authority and responsibility to manage one or more control accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include schedule planning and status, measurement of accomplishment, actual cost collection, variance analysis and resultant corrective action, and estimating costs at completion.
  • Manage the Torpedo Systems engineering development cost and schedule data using the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) guidelines as described in the Progeny Systems EVMS System Description; including timely and accurate monthly EV updates, variance explanations, and IMS narrative updates as required.
  • Support Comprehensive Estimate at Complete (CEAC) reviews, Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBR), Program Management Reviews (PMR) and engineering systems Integrated Product Teams (IPT) meetings.
  • Track and analyze engineering progress against the IMS, perform Estimate at Complete (EAC) adjustments as needed.
  • Assist with the development and reporting of Basis of Estimates (BOEs), Statement of Work (SOWs), and contract changes.
  • Document delays, changes in scope, and any other issues/risks that may arise and impact the scope of work, schedule, or budget.
  • Act as financial and/or contract point-of-contact for the Engineering team.
  • Control and monitor staffing authorizations and identify staffing needs to execute tasking.
  • Plan and prepare presentation materials and execute System Engineering Technical Review (SETR) events with the customer per contractual requirements.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency with Earned Value Management in a government contract environment.
  • Experience working in an Engineering design and development program for complex hardware and software integrated systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and familiarity with Microsoft Project. Experience with Government contracts, and ability to understand high level technical concepts.
  • Ability to support a fast paced, dynamic, complex, and results-based environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, attentive to details, and demonstrated initiative.


Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical preferred) or equivalent training/experience.

5 years minimum experience

This position requires the applicant to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.

Physical and Mental Requirements for all positions:
•Prolonged stationary periods at a desk
•General ability to operate computer and other productivity machinery such as calculator, copy machine, printer, etc.
•Ability to lift and transport up to 15 pounds at times
•Effectively communicate with others
•Ability to stay focused and provide attention to detail.
•Ability to think analytically and apply problem solving skills to scenarios throughout the course of the workday
