Senior Mechanical Engineer - Structural Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough structural analysis of industrial baseplate structures, identifying potential weaknesses and deficiencies.
- Assess load-bearing capacities, evaluate structural components and materials, and provide recommendations for strengthening structures and achieving cost savings.
- Prepare finite element models and perform finite element analysis of industrial packaged equipment baseplates.
- Evaluate deformations and stresses, report design deficiencies, and propose design improvements.
- Create comprehensive structural substantiation reports for customer submittals.
- Assess the impact of wind forces on industrial baseplate structures and develop strategies to mitigate potential damage.
- Conduct seismic analysis to evaluate the seismic performance of structures and develop seismic-resistant designs.
- Perform modal analysis to identify mechanical natural frequencies, addressing vibration or resonance issues.
- Conduct lifting analysis to ensure safe lifting and transportation of structures.
- Assess structural integrity during transportation, considering road conditions, loading/unloading procedures, and transportation methods, and develop strategies to ensure safe transportation.

- Proficiency in structural engineering principles and techniques (ASD / LRFD).
- Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant tools.
- Knowledge of ANSYS Workbench, SpaceClaim, and Mechanical Linear Elastic Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Familiarity with FEM connections, non-linear and fatigue analysis, modal analysis, wind and seismic analysis, and blast analysis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
- 5-7 years of experience in structural engineering.
- Proficiency in general structural analysis, wind analysis, seismic analysis, modal analysis, lifting analysis, and transportation analysis.
- Familiarity with software tools such as ANSYS.
- Understanding of relevant codes and standards, including ASCE, AISC, and ACI.
Salary: $80,000 - $110,000
