Design Engineer III

Oshkosh, Wisconsin - Full Time

Productive Resources ( ) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at our customer's facility in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will perform high-level, non-supervisory engineering analysis and design of new and modified components in accordance with engineering standards and project scope. Support for weapon system production integration, platform system support, test site support, US Government work directives related to weapon system upgrades and integration of ECPs on a combat vehicle platform. On-site required with limited remote work availability.

This is a full-time position that is indefinite in duration with the opportunity of professional growth, and additional opportunities within our organization.

Duties:
  • Research, study and propose the use of new technologies to be used in the development of new and improved products.
  • Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues.
  • Enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards. Ensure that technical issues are conducted within the framework of company policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability.
  • Direct preparation of layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
  • Perform engineering analysis to support the selection of parts, components, and materials that meet requirements.
  • Perform job duties in an ethical, professional manner which is consistent with the Oshkosh Way. Conduct duties consistent with the Company's mission statement, quality objectives, and defined policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical assistance for prototype, pilot, and production support.
  • Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering via verbal or written communication.
  • Provide direction to designers and drafters regarding engineering analysis.
  • Establish priorities for work delegated to others.
  • Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations.
  • Able to obtain a secret security clearance as required by job duties. ITAR standards apply.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's of Science in Engineering (EE, ME) OR equivalent experience in all types of vehicle design, and manufacturing. Including heavy equipment, tractor/farming equipment, passenger and commercial vehicles, and marine applications.
  • Proven work/project/intern experience in these areas with a strong ability to lead projects and tasks and the ability to be a strong member of the team as needed.
  • Possess strong mechanical knowledge of vehicles and related systems.
  • Possess basic knowledge of weapon systems controls and ancillary systems for combat vehicles required.
  • Ability to obtain (in the future) ITAR compatible security clearance.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with a high level CAD systems. CREO preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
