Warehouse Manager

Reports To:

Director of Operations

Job Overview:

Manage the daily operations of the warehouse to complete project tasks and lead a team of warehousemen.


  • Three to four years experience in warehouse management, preferably in the exhibitry & events industries, but not required.

  • Preferred knowledge and skills.

    • Proficiency using a computer and basic software (Gmail, Calendar, Excel, Word, Web-Based Project Management and Inventory, etc.)

    • Physically able to be on feet 6-8hrs per day and lift at least 50lbs.

    • Forklift certified or equivalent experience

    • Strong planning and organizational skills

    • Critical thinking and problem solving

    • Communication: Ability to convey ideas and recommendations clearly and succinctly. Spells out expectations clearly

    • People skills and relationship building: Build effective relationships that inspire motivation, engagement, and commitment from employees

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Direct the daily activities of a 2-4 person team of warehouse staff.

  • Attend to the shipping and receiving of exhibit properties. Verify and pack exhibit properties. Load and unload trucks.

  • Checking orders, bills, items received, inventory, and deliveries for accuracy.

  • Ensuring basic maintenance standards and compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Coordinating and maintaining fleets and equipment.

  • Communicating and coordinating with other departments and customers.

  • Maintain physical condition of the warehouse by planning and implementing new layouts, inspecting equipment, issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.

  • Direct the set-up and dismantle/pack of trade show exhibits and experiences

  • Attend internal project meetings

  • Fulfill job tasks assigned by account teams. Meet task deadlines.

  • Maintain systems for exhibit inventories and inspection reports.

  • Order stock materials and general warehouse supplies.

  • Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees.

  • Perform bi-annual performance evaluations to direct reports.

  • Receive portable exhibit orders from the client, fulfills order, arranges shipping.


Department Objectives:

  • Overall cleaning of all warehouse areas. (remove trash, organize clutter, clean floors and walls)

  • Continue all exhibit inventory on Exhibit Force

  • Create driver and delivery check-in area on dock by man door. We will need counters and some sort of buzzer as-well-as signage to direct people to that area.

  • Consistently schedule forklift maintenance, gas fill-ups and dumpster emptying

  • Reorganize offices if necessary

  • Create better area for shipping and receiving check-in/out

  • Install racking for job specific shop materials

  • Check in with Director of Operations to discuss daily objectives and report on progress

  • Maintain shipping log

  • Develop process for P&Is
