This position relies on your ability to provide outstanding direct leadership for a team of 20 +/- production employees. Responsibilities will include leading employees and driving improvements in the areas of safety, productivity, efficiency, production, and quality in their assigned area. Continuously improve plant performance through process improvement and use of lean methodologies, analyze data to make sound decisions and solve problems concerning production issues, and work with upstream & downstream people & processes to exceed customer expectations.
Maintain proper safety conditions and compliance with all standard equipment safety practices. Position requires a highly motivated, hands-on individual with excellent communication skills who can manage concurrent projects. Lead employees in the area of safety, productivity, efficiency, process improvement, and quality in their assigned area. Responsible for providing leadership and direction to employees on respective shift. Effectively plan and organize work objectives, goals, and priorities and define employees roles and responsibilities. Ensure training plan for employees is in place and executed. Review and submission of timekeeping detail, overtime approvals, payroll adjustments, and any other matters affecting employee's compensation. Work cooperatively with other team members on continuous improvement efforts. Facilitate problem solving between and within the shift. Administration of plant policies, guidelines, and systems. Ensure manufacturing job operations maintain or improve product quality. Strong leadership, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills. Analyze problems and implement solutions in a logical, objective manner. Knowledge of mechanical/electrical/automation maintenance is a plus.
Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or similar field experience is preferred. Minimum of 4 years supervisory experience working in a fast pace, high-pressure, 24/7 production environment. Experience working with and implementing lean manufacturing/continuous improvement concepts. Ability to trouble shoot production related problems. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions. Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism. Demonstrate ability to motivate and train employees toward higher efficiency and skill level. Ability to implement and execute best practices across area of responsibility. Willingness to have a flexible work schedule, which includes working an off-shift or weekends as scheduled. Demonstrated leadership skills and experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to coordinate with other departments and managers and work as a team. Knowledgeable at maintaining accurate employee documentation and files.
