Role Overview

The Configuration Analyst (CA) supports the HR Services product-line within the Configuration team and is responsible for regulating and supporting the integrity of the configuration strategy and models. They serve as the HR Services configuration Level 2 subject matter expert by supporting as an escalation point and managing content for which stakeholders use for configuring and administering services, as well as gaining proficiency and knowledge for the product-line. The CA works closely with internal stakeholders to ensure configurations are adhering to standards and intended outcomes. Most commonly they work with Implementation, Service Delivery teams and Service Enablement.


  • Govern configuration standards through regulated inspections. Build and monitor early warning systems that streamline the ability to rapidly respond to errors to minimize or mitigate risk.
  • Monitor adherence to templates to ensure standards are effectively implemented and operationalized. Validating and adjusting templates for where gaps present themselves.
  • Supports and governs the HR Services configuration strategy that optimizes the value of the available products across platforms. Supports decision criteria to help prioritize new and/or needed features and functionalities that arise in the business.
  • Drives the rollout of upcoming changes from our platform vendors and accounts for the impact of those changes to our clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Tests new features and fixes and ensures timely release to the organization. Troubleshoots system failures and qualifies solutions and/or temporary work-arounds. Escalates vendor issues (tickets) as needed.
  • Owns system level maintenance and configurations for the HR Services product-line.
  • Governs authors, improves new and updated subject matter content for collateral and training materials. Accountable for ensuring confidence in product proficiency through the direct management over these tools and resources.

  • Assist as a subject matter expert during demos, rapid-response/rescues, configuration capabilities, and key feature functions to support growth goals.
  • Supports the management of the HR Services backlog to focus what is needed to achieve aligned priorities and missions. Ensures that it is visible, transparent, and clear to all, and shows what the HR Services configuration team will be working on next.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2 years experience administering complex HR Services for multiple clients; PEO and HRO experience required.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with HR compliance laws and regulations (to include wage and hour)
    • Strong technical aptitude with an ability to learn new systems and features quickly and comprehensively.
    • Proven proficiency in navigating and configuring HRIS systems - iSolved, Prism and/or Ulti preferred. Specific experience with supporting and/or configuring workflows and user security/roles.
  • Verbal & Written Communication - Effective public speaking skills with the ability to write with articulation and precision.
  • Team Player - Ability to build cross functional relationships across departments and levels of the organization to bring a product to life.
  • Judgment/Decision Making: Demonstrates consistent logic, rationality, and objectivity in decision-making. Achieves balance between quick decisiveness and slower more thorough approaches, i.e., is neither indecisive nor a quick judge. Shows common sense. Anticipates consequences of decisions.
  • Analysis Skills: Identifies significant problems and opportunities. Analyzes problems in depth. Relates and compares data from different sources. Able to determine root causes and subtle relationships among data from various sources. Exhibits a probing mind. Achieves penetrating insights.
