SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Metrology Engineer is part of the Construction and Installation Engineering team working directly with building design and construction teams, equipment designers, and the installation teams to ensure successful projects from initial conception through system commissioning. This is a hands-on position that includes onsite field work, remote support, and office work. The successful candidate will have to be driven, adapt rapidly to change, and be willing to tackle a wide variety of challenges with a strong sense of ownership.
Creates and maintains the Spatial Analyzer model file and associated documentation for each installation project.
Leads development of a comprehensive metrology network for each installation project.
Leads the system best fit analysis for each installation project.
Leads alignment activities onsite during equipment installation including the alignment of building interface plates, marking of holes for equipment anchors, and the alignment of critical equipment that varies from small components to large assemblies.
Works directly with ProNova equipment design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and physicists to develop a thorough understanding of critical equipment alignment requirements and features. May participate in equipment design reviews, product risk analysis, and evaluation of product change requests.
Works directly with ProNova equipment vendors to develop a thorough understanding of vendor provided equipment installation and alignment requirements.
Develops equipment alignment procedures for critical components and assemblies.
Minimum of an Associate’s degree in a technical field required. BS in Engineering or a technical field preferred.
CMS level 1 3D metrology certification or demonstrated equivalent capabilities required.
Demonstrated proficiency with the use of Spatial Analyzer.
Ability to interrogate AutoCAD and SolidWorks CAD files, and interpret equipment drawings for critical dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
Demonstrated proficiency with the use of a laser tracker.
Experience with the use of a portable CMM preferred.
Experience in the development of precision equipment alignment procedures preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and to deliver quality results on schedule.
Must be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally as required to perform the responsibilities of the position. Travel may vary dependent on the location, number, and stages of projects, and may range from 25% to 75%.
Must be willing to actively participate in meetings as required. Due to the global nature of the business, meetings may be held outside of normal business hours including weekends and holidays.

Working conditions will vary greatly and may include conditioned office space, land under development, construction sites, warehouses, etc. Work may be performed in a finished office space, a temporary office such as a jobsite trailer, outdoors, or in a building that is under construction.
