Director of Product Development

Headquartered in Henderson, Nevada, ProCaps Laboratories, a leading provider of additive-free vitamin supplements, is looking for a Director of Product Development. You will be responsible for the overall creation, coordination, and execution of the company’s formulation
process of new and existing products. Additional duties will include working closely with CEO, Research, Process Engineering, Procurement, Production, Quality Assurance (QA), and Quality Control (QC) in managing product costs and adherence to formulated specifications.

This position is based in Las Vegas, NV - there is relocation available.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Chemistry, or related field; Graduate degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of formulations experience in the nutritional supplement industry
  • Conducts business in compliance with the corporation’s Code of Business Conduct
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures
  • Detail oriented and possess strong organization and technical skills
  • Strong leadership, partnership, and collaboration skills
  • Analytical aptitude in order to gather and summarize data for reports, prioritize work and recommend solutions to various production issues; ask clarifying questions to ensure all project requirements are met
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrated capacity to juggle, organize, and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands, and to seek supervisory assistance, as appropriate
  • Capability to re-adjust and re-prioritize goals to meet the ever-changing demands of the projects at hand
  • Tenacious attitude and a strong will to execute and get the job done
  • Working knowledge of computers and aptitude to learn new programs
  • Proficient in MS Office


  • Management:
    • Oversight of department’s corporate meeting involvement.
    • Department Administration:
      • Accomplish department goals by managing staff, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring progress
      • Generate protocols and ensure adherence; devise plan for future action
      • Provide effective leadership and direct the work of subordinates; carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the corporate policies and applicable laws
      • Develop budget
    • Contribute to and support the corporate quality initiatives by planning, communicating and encouraging team and individual contributions toward quality-improvement efforts
  • Formulations:
    • Participate in pre-formulation, formulation, and reformulation of new and existing products
    • Lead the department to source high quality raw materials that meet corporate demands
    • Implement pilot scale production and validation processes
    • Closely work with CEO, QA, Procurement, and Production to ensure that finished products meet the corporate goal
    • Final review and approval of all formulas to include: new and existing product
    • Maintain accurate formula costs
    • Ensure current raw material and component costs are maintained in system
  • Raw Materials:
  • Assist Procurement, QA, and QC in:
    • Manage all raw materials specifications
    • Identify new or improved raw materials
    • Recommended storage of raw materials based upon usage, material type, and heat sensitivity
    • Review of all raw materials vendors; ensure vendor quality by dealing proactively with vendor non-conformance and providing suggestions for alternate suppliers
  • Ad Hoc Projects:
    • Assist CEO on various projects, as assigned
  • Contributes to a working environment that allows all employees the opportunity for development, growth, and advancement
  • Conducts business in compliance with the corporation’s Code of Business Conduct
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned


  • Duties are primarily performed in our building, which is a smoke-free environment
