Warehouse Lead (Full Time) – Edmonton, AB

 

We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Lead to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta. This is a full time position. 

 

Under the direction of the ­­­­­­­Regional Distribution Manager, the Warehouse Lead is responsible for supervising all activities by directing and assisting in the receiving, warehousing and shipping of client’s product in a professional and consistent manner.

 

Responsibilities (duties may include but no limited to):

  • Oversee receiving, warehousing,  shipping , inventory and over all functions of the warehouse
  • Led by example approach by training, coaching  and providing  day to day direction to team members to ensure tasks are completed correctly and efficiently
  • Ensures company’s policies and procedures are followed
  • Assists in maintaining electronic and manual documents, files and records to ensure proper documentation of inventory, items received, and shipped.
  • Check and placard vehicle according to Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Regulations
  • Accurately fills customers’ orders
  • Keep warehouse safe, clean, organized and identify the need for repairs and/or maintenance to equipment and ensure the deficiencies are reported to the supervisor
  • Drive compliance with safety, quality and productivity goals in support of warehouse leadership team objectives.
  • Provide daily hands-on support for the department
  • Move product within the facility / operate a fork-lift
  • Assist with deliveries as required
  • Dispatch experience a strong asset,
  • Communicate regularly with team members, Manager and other departments to ensure priorities are being met and issues are identified, shared and resolved
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed by the Manager

 

Qualifications

  • High School diploma. Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 year’s related warehouse lead role
  • Class 5 Driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract (Class 3 a strong asset)
  • Experience in warehouse management procedures and best practices
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and team building skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and strategic thinking
  • Strong attention to detail, time management and ability to meet assigned deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong computer skills (Excel spreadsheets etc.)
  • Available for “on call” or after hours emergency work as required
  • Experienced in Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) considered an asset
