Summary of duties - Prism Maritime, LLC is currently seeking a Facilities Specialist to work out of their San Diego, CA office. The Facilities Specialist under general supervision performs repairs and preventive maintenance on a wide variety of things such as tools, building and facility equipment, fixtures and electrical systems. May also serve as liaison between the company and contractors for items outside of purview. Typically, performs work in several of the common maintenance trades such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, and/or machine & equipment / tool repair.  Periodically required to lift/move equipment up to and including 50 pounds. Additional duties and/or responsibilities of other positions may also be assigned for which qualifications are met.

Specific description of duties: 

  • Point of Contact for all facilities related issues pertaining to maintenance or repairs.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections and maintain inventory of all company assets.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on tools and building equipment, etc.
  • Handle basic building repairs/remodeling, tool repairs and maintenance.
  • Oversee contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
  • Manage Cleaning/Janitorial subcontractors.
  • Diagnose and correct any facilities related issues.
  • Repair building equipment, and/or structures, as necessary.
  • Maintain control and basic set-up of all IT assets and network hubs.
  • Perform as Liaison between Facility, EH&S, Security and Operations.
  • Manage and control all tools used by the Operations team.
  • Manage Calibration and control of Inspection Measurement and Test Equipment.
  • Assist in Training and Training infrastructure as required.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
  • Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, etc.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
  • Perform any other assignments or tasks as needed or requested by management to assist in accomplishing the organization's mission, objectives and goals.


Additional Skills and Other Notes:

  • Proven maintenance experience.
  • Electrical knowledge is a PLUS.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
  • Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, etc.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
  • Experience performing routine maintenance.
  • Must have an eye for critical detail and possess the ability to focus while working individually.
  • Must also have strong organizational as well as time management skills. 


Education/Specialized Training:

  • High school diploma or GED may be required depending on varying contract stipulations. 


Security Clearance:

  • Clearance up to secret level may be required.


Physical/Environmental Job Requirements:
Physical requirements include the following:

  • Lifting/moving up to and including 50 pounds

In performing these duties, you may be required to work outdoors or in the warehouse.  You will experience temperature variations, extremely loud noises, and other physical hazards.
