Vet Assistant
- Full-Time
A busy Veterinary Office is looking for a Veterinary Assistant. Monday - Friday 8 am to 5 pm. $15-$20/HR depending on experience. You MUST have experience for this position.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
Feed animals and monitor whether they're eating.
Bathe pets when necessary
Exercise the animals.
Assist veterinarians and vet technicians with lab work.
Clean, sterilize, and maintain kennels, operating rooms, examining rooms, cages, and surgical equipment
Comfort and restrain pets during examinations and care.
Provide first aid to pets in an emergency, stabilizing them until a doctor can take over.
Administer medications to pets.
Perform some clerical duties.
Set up room for procedures, assist during surgical procedures, keep all surgical equipment clean and sterilized, keep surgery room clean, prep for surgery,
Monitor patients Before during, and after procedures
Set up dental equipment and be able to perform prophies, document tooth changes
Call back and check up on all released surgical and hospitalized animals, help in exam rooms if work is caught up, and answer phones if needed.
Any other duties as assigned
