Job Overview:

The Project Controls Specialist/Cost Analyst is primarily responsible for assisting upper management, project management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, procurement, engineering, and lead field project controls with budgeting and reporting from the Denver home office. These activities include but are not limited to project planning, scheduling, budgeting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, progress reporting, cost control analysis, forecasting, contingency management and reporting for all projects within their respective business unit.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • Ensure the completion and issuance of all required monthly and quarterly financial reports for his or her assigned projects. These reports include but aren’t limited to Key Project Reports, Risk Registers, Contingency Draw-down Registers, Pending Change Order Logs, Key Project Financial Reports, Outstanding AP, Outstanding AR, BIE, CIE, Cost Flow, Cash Flow, Production, Productivity, CPI’s, Contract Milestones, and Billings.
  • Responsible for ensuring that their assigned projects are adhering to all Contract Management and Revenue Recognition SOX controls as defined in the Company’s SOX narratives.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all Project Control’s deliverables are completed, and deadlines met within his or her projects.
  • Accounting functions will include creating accounts receivable billings for customers, reviewing, coding invoices, and approving invoices, assist procurement, engineers and subcontracts with creating, coding, and approving PO’s and subcontracts in Viewpoint.
  • Assist PM’s, Directors, VP’s, and PCM with special reports, requests or analysis.
  • Hold weekly and monthly meetings.
  • Work with Field Engineers and Timekeeper to ensure valid and accurate man hours are reported daily.
  • Work with Field Engineers to ensure valid and accurate quantities are reported daily, monitor daily productivity and planned percent complete.
  • Periodic travel to project sites to support project management and field operations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • College degree preferred.
  • Preference given for experience in Solar, Renewable Energy, Construction or Power Generation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Possess a solid understanding of job costing.
  • Ability to travel on occasion as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail required.
