As our sous chef your responsibilities include:
- Manage all operations in the kitchen.
- Translate our chef's new inventions into well documented recipes.
- Manage inventory and place & receive orders.
- Be hands-on: do prep & line cooking when needed.
- Manage the BOH team of 7-10 members.
- Train BOH team to guarantee a consistent product.
- Plan & perform kitchen equipment maintenance.
Some of the skills & capacities you need to have:
- You have to be a people's person: get along with everyone, make people happy.
- You have to be a great cook and love the grill and preparing food.
- You need computer/software skills to place orders, enter invoices, etc.
- You need to be able to train cooks.
- You have to be able to work under pressure (and love it when there are 20 orders showing in the screen at the same time).
- And yes, lift heavy stuff, stand for long periods of time, etc.
Expect 40-48 hrs of work per week.
