Job Summary
Price Benowitz, LLP is currently seeking a Pre-Litigation Personal Injury Paralegal to join its growing Personal Injury team at their Washington, DC headquarters. This Paralegal position will focus on assisting attorneys with cases to ensure the efficient and timely progression of the different stages of pre-litigation. The firm covers cases throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, requiring candidates with knowledge and experience with these jurisdictions. This job can be hybrid or on-site and can be based near Washington, DC.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Draft letters and other forms of correspondence.
- FOIA Requests.
- Obtain and organize documentation required at different stages of pre-litigation.
- Coordinate with Investigator to obtain photos of scene and witness statements when needed.
- Process PIP/Medpay.
- Obtain prior injury/medical and claims/lawsuits history.
- Review all medical records.
- Maintain regular contact with clients.
- Prepare notice letters to Medicare/Medicaid and lienholders.
- Draft and send out demand packages; monitor receipt and processing of demand.
- Prepare closing statements, check account balances, and process disbursement.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
- 2+ years of personal injury paralegal experience.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, deliver results, and maintain quality while working under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Ability to work effectively in collaboration with others.
- Demonstrated proficiency and experience with a broad range of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong research skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Foreign language skills are a plus, but not required.
